Job Summary

Conduct calibration work with little to no supervision, performing tasks independently within the laboratory or at customer sites. Coordinate daily workloads, manage research, and apply appropriate measurement techniques while maintaining calibration standards and interpreting accreditation scopes. Execute calibrations across at least four disciplines with expert knowledge in one, ensuring safety and adherence to ISO 17025 quality policies. Travel up to 50% of the schedule to support client locations. This mid-level role supports Transcat's mission as a leading calibration provider in life sciences, aerospace, and defense sectors.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes
  • Ability to take direction and learn from feedback
  • Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license
  • Associates degree from college or technical school, or 3+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Three+ (3+) years of commercial calibration experience
  • Previous experience or training in electronics or machining
  • Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics
  • Experience working within ISO 17025 preferred. Understanding of uncertainty contributions to the measurement process
