Job Summary
Administer direct patient care and perform unit clerical duties under Clinical Nurse direction. Provide support to the patient care team, ensuring a clean environment and assisting physicians, patients, families, and vendors. Schedule tests and procedures, maintain records, and manage equipment and supply ordering. Offer continuous observation including suicide prevention. Requires high school diploma, previous acute patient care experience or IU Health PCA education, current Basic Life Support certification, and knowledge of medical terminology and infection control principles. This part-time day position is available at IU Health in Frankfort.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous comparable acute patient care experience or successful completion of the IU Health PCA education program
- Current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or attainment at the completion of the IU Health PCA education program
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities
- Knowledge of principles of infection control
- Basic computer skills
- CPR certification (May be required to complete Unit Secretary training program)
- Ability to provide continuous observation including suicide prevention
