Technician Training & Development Specialist

Job Summary

Deliver in-person orientation sessions covering installation standards, wiring, and safety protocols for new Dallas technicians and subcontractors. Conduct structured skills assessments within the first two weeks to build individual development plans, then review progress at 30, 60, and 90 days. Spearhead the Safety Deputy Program by identifying and training deputies, implementing monthly safety audits, and reinforcing daily safety culture. Conduct regular in-field ride-alongs and job-site training to correct installation practices in real time, while designing tools to streamline certification tracking and readiness reviews. Create version-controlled documentation for key procedures and collaborate with stakeholders to pilot new standards. Support operations leaders in evaluating and leveling technician candidates via field assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 10/30 Certified
  • Lift Certifications
  • industry trainings
  • 5+ years of experience in training, technical instruction, or technician development
  • preference in low-voltage, AV, commercial security systems, or structured cabling industries
  • Strong understanding of safety standards, compliance, and technical workflows in a security & field-based environment
  • Proficiency with tools like ConnectWise, SiteOwl, various dashboards and other digital trackers for project management and documentation
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences and build trust
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work from ladders or man lifts at extended heights
  • Must be comfortable standing and walking for long periods of time and lifting boxes of various weights
  • Must be able to use a computer with reasonable accommodations
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license in the state of which you are applying and have the ability to meet our company driving standards

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in Training and Development, Technical Education, or a related field
