Job Summary
Accurately collect GPS coordinates and gather precise data for assigned assets while safely operating, maintaining, and cleaning all equipment. Paint, scrape, and clean fire hydrants, perform repairs on operating nuts, and uphold a driving score of A-90 or above using a 4x4 truck in off-road conditions. Maintain consistent productivity, follow strict safety protocols including PPE and work zone standards, and communicate daily with support staff. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm in high-traffic areas with potential travel for weekends and night shifts. This three-month trainee program offers a clear pathway to Water Technician 1, with paid training, weekly pay, and opportunities for overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Certification
- Physically capable of performing field work, including walking over varied terrain, entering confined spaces, bending, squatting, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and in physically demanding environments
- Willing and able to travel as needed based on project requirements, including weekends and occasional night shifts
- Proficient in using mobile devices and field data collection applications
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, safety-conscious decisions that may impact the public
- Capable of operating and maneuvering a 4x4 2500 series truck in off-road or challenging conditions
- Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to high ethical work standards
