Job Summary
Water Technician Trainee at Hydromax USA focused on Valve Exercise, Fire Hydrant Maintenance, or Blowoff Maintenance. The role supports a 3-month trainee program with clear pathways to advancement to Water Technician 1. Primary duties include accurately collecting GPS coordinates for assets, safely operating and maintaining equipment, gathering data from inspection points, sustaining productivity, achieving a high driver performance score, using PPE and following work-zone safety protocols, painting and cleaning hydrants, performing hydrant and valve repairs, and maintaining clear communication with support staff and field managers. Requires a valid driver’s license, ability to pass background and drug screening, potential DOT medical certification, physical capability for field work, and travel as needed; proficient with mobile devices and field data collection applications; and the ability to operate a 4x4 truck in challenging conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Certification
- Physically capable of performing field work (walking over varied terrain, entering confined spaces, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 pounds)
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willing and able to travel as needed (including weekends and occasional night shifts)
- Proficient in using mobile devices and field data collection applications
- Demonstrated safety-conscious decision making
- Capable of operating a 4x4 2500 series truck in off-road or challenging conditions
- Self-motivated and dependable
