Job Summary
Technician role focused on testing and launch operations for Blue Origin’s spaceflight programs in Lancaster, CA. Responsibilities include preparing ground systems, vehicles, and engines for launch/test activities, verifying integration and system readiness via checklists, conducting pre-launch/test inspections and troubleshooting, supporting vehicle/engine integration and data acquisition, disassembly and verification post-test, operating material handling and tools, maintaining documentation of readiness and anomaly resolution, upholding safety standards, participating in emergency response procedures, and collaborating across engineering, operations, and mission-control teams to enable seamless handoffs. Preferred qualifications cover interpretation of technical drawings, experience with propulsion/pressurized systems, ground support equipment, instrumentation, and continuous-improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma). The role emphasizes adherence to procedures, safety, and high-quality output in a high-stakes aerospace environment, supporting the BE-7 lunar lander program.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, testing, or related technical field (0-3 years Level I Technician, 3+ years Level II Technician, 5+ years Level III Technician, 8+ years Sr Level Technician)
- Documented experience using standard mechanical tools (wrenches, torque tools, drills, saws, calipers) and fabrication shop equipment (mills, lathes, presses)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted, work at heights (up to 20 feet), and operate in confined spaces
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Preferred: experience interpreting technical documentation (drawings, schematics, diagrams, P&IDs); hands-on assembly, integration, test, troubleshooting across mechanical/electrical/fluid systems; familiarity with ground support equipment, launch/test environments, range safety protocols; Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen; instrumentation and data acquisition systems; wiring harnesses and electromechanical hardware; ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work and collaborate with teams
