Job Summary
Conduct standard and routine operations and field tests using standard procedures. Perform routine processes, investigations, and technical studies for customers across disciplines such as chemical, mechanical, electrical, or material science. Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, quality control, and inventory tracking while supporting troubleshooting and calibration of complex systems. Analyze test results using standard software packages, write routine reports, and prepare operational procedures. Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good relations, and solve problems while ensuring safety and quality compliance. Perform clerical duties including shipping, receiving, and record management. Work rotating shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours, including weekends, with potential overtime. Obtain and maintain a valid nuclear site security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of three-year community college or High School plus additional specialized courses related to the designated discipline or work focus
- Minimum 5 years related experience or equivalent combined academic and practical experience
- Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical components, instrumentation, etc. to facilitate the execution of routine operations and tests
- Practical hands-on experience in the areas of operations, mechanical and electrical assembly, interface with computer applications, maintenance and/or troubleshoot of complex equipment and processes
- Ability to work effectively and interface with multiple team members
- Excellent written (technical and non-technical) and verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize computer software programs for data management
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products for data analysis, charting and document preparation
- Strong written (technical and non-technical) and verbal communication skills
- Solid knowledge of Quality Assurance principles
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing/operations environment and must comply with all applicable safety protocols, procedures, standards, and Personal Protective Equipment requirements
- Demonstrate practice of excellent safety awareness and adherence to practices and procedures
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a valid nuclear site security clearance
- This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process
- Weekend work will be required
- Overtime may be required
- Shift Work Position. Workers will be assigned 8 or 10 or 12 hour shifts as rotating shifts (days, afternoons, and/or nights)
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with vacuum systems, ion sources, and/or accelerator systems is an asset
