Job Summary
Operating Room Scrub Technician role supports the perioperative team by preparing the operating room, maintaining the sterile field, and providing instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures under the direction of the RN and surgeon. Requires CST certification, BLS, completion of a surgical technology program, and adherence to aseptic technique and infection-control standards while anticipating the needs of the surgical team across all phases of the operative process.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited surgical technology program and associated hours
- CST certification required
- BLS required
- Experience as Scrub Technician in OR preferred
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile field maintenance, surgical instrumentation, and OR protocols
