Technician - Sawmill

Job Summary
Inspect, maintain, and repair roundsaws and other mill cutting tools, including guided gangsaws, edgers, and chipping heads. Conduct guide maintenance to ensure proper alignment and service gang, edger, and chipping head assemblies for optimal cutting efficiency. Oversee saw lubrication system maintenance and replace or tension saws as needed to meet production standards. Work closely with the maintenance team and production supervisors to minimize downtime while following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area. This role supports American Hardwood Industries, a leading hardwood lumber manufacturer within The Baillie Group, focusing on efficient and safe mill operations.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Filer, Saw Technician, or Saw Maintenance Specialist in a sawmill or hardwood manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with guided saw systems and roundsaw maintenance
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Filer, Saw Technician, or Saw Maintenance Specialist in a sawmill or hardwood manufacturing environment preferred
