Job Summary
Monitor can weights, fill weights, crimps, components, spray testing, pressure testing, can code, carton code, and overall quality and performance of finished products. Read work orders, decipher production codes, and ensure line clearance and first checks are completed during change-overs. Complete hourly line checks, enter and verify data in the Finished Good (SPC) database, and perform SAP transactions including LS24, MIGO, and MMBE. Check pallet tags, list defects, and reject nonconforming pallets with computer entries. Perform gauge calibration, weekly MSA checks, and assist operations teams in eliminating defects through root cause processes. Follow GMPs, report food safety or quality issues, and use escalation procedures as needed. Work Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm to 3:30am.
Required Qualifications
- Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm - 3:30am
- Read the entire work order and follow all instructions needed for product being run
- Read and decipher codes for production, based upon instructions in the Page 2 notes
- Ensure line clearance and first check completed during change-over
- Check that everything on the Changeover/Startup paperwork is completed correctly
- Complete all required line checks, according to specified time guidelines (typically hourly)
- Monitor can weights, fill weights, crimps, components, spray testing, pressure testing, can code, carton code and overall quality and performance of the finished product
- Enter & verify data in the Finished Good (SPC) database as needed or required
- Ensure that all product is within the quality and food safety specification
- While inspecting finished goods, check can code, carton code, pallet pattern and any component on work order that is inserted on or into the carton. Also check pallet tag and list any defects. Any pallet that has been rejected needs to be entered into the computer with an explanation of the reject
- Perform SAP transactions as required. These transactions include: LS24, MIGO, and MMBE
- Turn in the completed work order packet, customer samples and retains
- Partner with operations teams and leads to eliminate defects through root cause process online
- Understand and use escalation process for issues
- As needed, put product on hold, make hold forms, contain hold product, assure hold forms are on the product, and issue nonconformance email
- Complete calibration of gauges and check weighers as needed or required
- Perform weekly MSA checks
- Follow and help enforce all GMP's and report any food safety or quality to the Quality Manager
