Job Summary
Part-time Technician provides technical support for live events at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center and other City of Dearborn locations. Responsibilities include loading/unloading stage, audio visual, lighting, and event equipment; set up, operation, and strike of staging, AV, lighting, rigging, and related gear; behind-the-scenes client support; maintenance of stage and storage areas; inventory and repair of audio, video and lighting equipment; operate one of Live Audio, Lighting, Video, or Fly/Rigging disciplines; may drive city vehicles to deliver supplies; construction/finishing of sets and scenery. Requires knowledge of technical theatre and live event operations, ability to troubleshoot equipment, physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and attendance consistency.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years previous experience in live events or technical theatre
- Knowledge of signal flow, electrical current load, AV equipment repair and maintenance
- Certification in audio, lighting, video or rigging systems; preferred but not required
- Criminal history check, drug screen and physical
- Valid State of Michigan driver’s license
- Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and be physically active for long periods
- Ability to work on ladders, cat-wwalks, man lifts, and scissor lifts
- Provide supervision to other employees
