Job Summary
Install and configure physical security systems, including cameras, access control, and alarm systems, while pulling and routing low-voltage cables to support installations. Mount equipment, connect power and data lines, and perform initial power-ups, ensuring all work adheres to safety protocols and detailed blueprints. Troubleshoot connectivity issues, maintain accurate installation records, and collaborate with electricians and network specialists to ensure smooth integration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience in installing security systems or working with low-voltage cabling
- Prior experience with cable pulling, conduit installation, and other electrical work
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems, including how to pull, route, and terminate cables for security systems
- Basic understanding of electrical safety, tool usage, and security system components
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated positions, and in construction environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment
- Good communication skills to coordinate with other team members and supervisors
Desired Qualifications
- Additional technical training or certifications in low-voltage electrical work or security systems installation (e.g., NICET, CompTIA Security+, etc.)
- Experience in new construction or data center environments
- Familiarity with the installation of security technologies such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and security system designs
