Job Summary
Diagnose problems and perform complex mechanical repairs on customer vessels, including engines, propulsion systems, and electronics, at dock or sea locations. Coordinate with the parts department to order necessary components and execute routine maintenance according to established guidelines. Complete all work orders and time sheets accurately while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Utilize diagnostic tools and laptops to troubleshoot equipment independently, adhering to strict safety procedures and quality standards. Available for overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- three to five years related experience
- Clean driving record
- valid Driver's License
- Full complement of basic hand tools, both standard and metric, including torque wrenches
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
- Ability to utilize laptop and portable diagnostic tools
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- The trait of being dependable and trustworthy
- Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures
- Must be available to work overtime hours as required to complete repairs, including occasional weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree or certification in a diesel engine program
