Job Summary
Technician role performing on-site maintenance of facility equipment and grounds in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include completing daily maintenance assignments, repairing equipment, reading electrical and mechanical drawings and technical manuals, performing preventive maintenance, following OSHA/EPA safety practices, adhering to LOTO procedures, and assisting with cost-saving opportunities. Candidate may participate in pilot line setup with shift transitions and may train other employees. Must have a high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of maintenance experience (or equivalent combinations) and be capable of working independently, communicating effectively, and using ERP or maintenance-tracking software when applicable. Travel is not required; position primarily on-site in Ohio. First Solar’s environment emphasizes safety, PPE compliance, and adherence to standard procedures; job duties subject to change.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 3+ years maintenance experience
- 5+ years in a related field OR 2-year technical school with 3 years’ experience
- Journeyman’s Card from an accredited apprentice ship program preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of ERP or Maintenance Tracking Program is a plus
- Project Leader experiences a plus
- Proven Communications Skills
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and technical manuals
- Proven Electro/Mechanical skills
- Experience with Electrical, Mechanical, Vacuum Systems, Chemical delivery, and Robotic systems (3 of these)
- Follow Safe Work Practices
- LOTO understanding
- Independent work capability
- PM experience
- Ability to pull reports and enter data
- Reading and interpreting prints
- Collaboration with other departments
- Safety compliance (OSHA, EPA)
- Willingness to train others
- Standard PPE usage
