Job Summary
Performs, as directed, all necessary maintenance of the facility, equipment and grounds in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Reads electrical and mechanical drawings and technical manuals; conducts on-site service and repair of equipment; adheres to OSHA/EPA and company safety practices; completes First Solar Maintenance 1 training; potential for 2nd shift during ramp; no travel outside the worksite; requires safety PPE; strong electro/mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities; supports waste management per guidance; demonstrates effective communication and computer skills; energized by a role that combines field maintenance with hands-on technical work at the First Solar facility in Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 year associates degree preferred
- 6 months First Solar manufacturing experience, or 6 months outside manufacturing, mechanical, or agricultural experience
- Must pass community college entrance exam and complete manufacturing maintenance training program
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proven communications skills
- Proven Electro/Mechanical skills
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, vacuum systems, chemical delivery, and robotics
- Ability to follow safe work practices
- Capable of following LOTO
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skill
