Technician Lead - Grounds

Job Summary

Oversee daily operations and activities of the grounds maintenance team to ensure the upkeep, appearance, and safety of all landscaped and outdoor areas. Assign tasks and provide hands-on training to grounds crew staff while safely operating heavy and light equipment including tractors, mowers, dump trucks, skid steers, and water wagons. Perform routine and corrective maintenance on equipment, identify and resolve daily technical and operational issues, and maintain accurate spray records for compliance. Conduct daily briefings with management, create work orders using the Vantage Ticketing System, and lead safety meetings to promote a culture of safety. Work primarily in Chouteau, OK with travel to other facilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a related field
  • Must have a spray license or acquire within first 2 years of employment
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma Commercial Drivers license or a valid Oklahoma Drivers license and acquire a valid Commercial Drivers license within the first 2 years of employment
  • Must be able to stand and walk on uneven ground, slippery surfaces
  • Must be able to lift, move and carry weights of 50 lb. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to perform work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Must be able to weed eat for long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, perform above shoulder work and work with arms extended
  • Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, flame-resistant (FR) clothing, steel-toe footwear, safety goggles, hearing protection, and fall protection gear as necessary to ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Work is performed primarily in Chouteau, OK with travel to other GRDA facilities as needed

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and commitment to the team
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures
  • Knowledge of handling potentially hazardous chemicals, and various state and federal laws, rules and regulations and industry practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe handling practices for potentially hazardous chemicals, as well as familiarity with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and industry standards
