Job Summary
Technician position in Tulsa, OK performing specimen acceptability checks and a range of routine and complex technical procedures under SOPs; monitors and troubleshoots instrumentation, makes technical testing decisions, evaluates new reagents/controls, and reports accurate test results to support quality patient care. Requires an associate degree in a chemical or biological science/clinical laboratory science/medical technology, ASCP or AMT certification, and 1+ year of clinical lab testing experience; proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems; ability to work both independently and in a team; strong attention to detail, good communication, and organizational skills; color vision testing, and flexibility for overtime or shift changes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- ASCP or AMT certification
- 1 year or more of previous clinical laboratory testing experience
- Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
