Job Summary
Performs testing and quality control procedures in a clinical laboratory under supervision, operates instrumentation, prepares reagents, and reports results according to established policies and procedures; communicates with nursing and physicians regarding patient results and assists in various projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in laboratory science preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent with 50-week military training as Medical Lab Specialist OR graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory or Clinical Laboratory training program
- 1 to 3 years clinical laboratory experience preferred
- ASCP or equivalent, certified, or eligible, required
- Certification must be achieved within 12 months after hire date
