Job Summary
Perform non-routine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to on-site industrial wastewater, hazardous waste, field environmental surveys, or operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities. Collect samples, maintain documentation in record logs, and operate trucks, pumps, vacuum equipment, oil booms, generators, and other machinery. Test, calibrate, repair, and modify control and instrumentation systems at on-site locations, establishing and maintaining appropriate logs of activities. Provide some leadership and guidance to lower-level technicians while preparing required field and office reports. This role may involve acting in a lead capacity in wastewater treatment operations and maintenance, with assignments in the office and/or at field sites where travel and relocation are expected.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- 6+ years of related work experience
- Associate's Degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience
- Completion of a 40-hour OSHA training course (with an annual 8-hour update)
- A willingness to travel and/or to relocate
- Competency in performing typical Technician assignments and responsibilities
- Tasks and testing techniques related to operations
