Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot nanofabrication processing equipment including thin film deposition, photolithography, metrology, and reactive ion etching tools while adhering to strict Standard Operating Procedures and cleanroom cleanliness protocols. Perform routine maintenance functions with minimal supervision, utilizing technical manuals and OEM representatives to minimize downtime. Support technicians or specialized contractors on complex equipment interventions and collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel regarding system improvements. Train and guide junior team members on infrastructure management decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of related experience
  • Four years of related experience
  • Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cleanliness protocols in a cleanroom facility
  • Hands-on experience with the maintenance and operation of a variety of nanofabrication tools, such as thin film deposition, photolithography, metrology, and reactive ion etching tools
  • Troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software issues on this equipment
  • Working knowledge of the facilities associated with a Class 100 cleanroom, such as CDA, N2, air handlers, dirty air scrubbers, and fan filter units
  • Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance functions with minimal supervision after substantial on-the-job training
  • Ability to work with other contractors, engineers, and quality control personnel regarding changes or improvements to the systems
  • Continuous personal pursuit to increasing job knowledge and proficiency with different systems
  • Positive, professional, and customer-oriented attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well with AggieFab full-time staff members and undergraduate student workers
  • Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance functions with no supervision after training

  • Completion of the federal Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form
  • Presentation of acceptable and original documents to prove identity and authorization to work in the United States
  • Passing a criminal history investigation
