Job Summary
Technician III (Operations & Maintenance) provides advanced mechatronics support for the BEUMER Individual Carrier System (ICS) at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Responsibilities include routine and advanced maintenance of ICS components (diverters, scanners, interfacing equipment), troubleshooting across mechanical/electrical/control subsystems, responding to interruptions, preventive and corrective maintenance per OEM docs, monitoring SAC and PLC systems, logging maintenance and part usage, ensuring safety and quality, and supporting system upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives. Requires 5+ years’ experience with automated material handling, strong PLC/programming and diagnostic skills, proficiency with Profinet/CANbus, and ability to work rotating shifts in an airport environment. Education/certification in mechatronics or related field and airside security clearance eligibility are required, with full-time, in-person work in Hebron, KY.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in automated material handling systems, preferably within airport or logistics environments
- Security: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance
- Technical Competencies: Deep understanding of mechatronic systems, sensors, actuators, motors, and controls; Profinet, CANbus, Fieldbus; Siemens PLC programming; fault diagnostics; ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; use of diagnostic tools and multimeters
- Core Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset; ability to work independently and in a team; focus on safety and quality
