Job Summary
Technician II for wind turbine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Responsibilities include performing preventive and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines, interpreting fault reports, maintaining power generation reports and service logs, reading and following safety and operating documentation, and supporting Lock Out Tag Out procedures. The role involves working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, replacing major turbine components (e.g., generators and gearboxes), assisting with high-voltage system maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The position requires hands-on work on wind turbine components, ability to climb towers, operate with minimal supervision, and a commitment to safety and quality in a rigorous O&M environment. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years’ experience as a Wind Turbine Technician
- Valid driver’s license (NON CDL or CDL) with a clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret documents, and follow instructions (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening
- Able to lift/move up to 100 pounds
- Climb wind turbines up to 300 ft with gear
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Personal Fall Arrest System adherence
- Respect weight limits of PPE and equipment
