Technician II-Grounds

Mow grass, edge curbs, cut down trees, and prune limbs while picking up and disposing of debris, brush, and litter from grounds and rights-of-way. Perform related public works operations including transporting materials, emptying trash cans, cleaning bathrooms, conducting routine repairs like changing light bulbs and painting, and assisting with special event setups. Operate machinery such as lawn mowers, edgers, weed eaters, chippers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws while maintaining equipment through inspections, fluid checks, and minor repairs. Monitor work environments, direct traffic, place safety markers, and report incidents or faulty equipment. Communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and the public to coordinate activities and resolve problems. Requires a valid South Carolina driver's license and one year of grounds maintenance experience.
