Job Summary
Install, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial ice machines while diagnosing technical issues on the first visit to minimize downtime. Lead installation processes, manage on-site repair tasks, and train less experienced technicians. Provide outstanding customer support during field visits, forge positive relationships, and accurately document all service activities with photos and reports. Maintain proper truck stock, manage vehicle cleanliness, and facilitate customer payments. Work a full-time schedule with a rotating on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Vocational/Technical Training
- 1+ year experience in the diagnosis and repair of commercial equipment
- prior experience with refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, ice machines, or related equipment
- EPA 2 Certification
- Working knowledge of mobile tools and applications
- Experience in and the ability to demonstrate volt meter operations
- Ability to work a full-time schedule which includes a rotating on-call schedule
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing repair and maintenance issues
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure service calls are completed in a timely manner
- Skills in maintaining organized records and documentation of service activities
- Demonstrated track record of delivering highest level of customer satisfaction
- High-energy individual with a positive attitude and strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and service protocols in the field of ice machine repair and maintenance
- Strong work ethic and dedication to new technologies and service protocols in the field of ice machine repair and maintenance
- Ability to stand; walk; sit; use ladders; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel surfaces, parts and tools; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Stands for extended periods of time (6+ hours per day)
- Drive a vehicle for up to 60 percent of the hours worked
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
