Job Summary
Troubleshoot, splice, and test fiber optic cable while supporting maintenance and repair activities for fiber optic infrastructure. Conduct basic site surveys, report findings, and document installation details and service outcomes. Operate and maintain tools such as fusion splicers and OTDRs, responding to service calls and emergency repairs as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service delivery and participate in training programs to stay current with industry trends. Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six (6) months to two (2) years of experience or training in fiber splicing and troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of fiber optic systems and network infrastructure
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical tasks
- Good communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Flexibility to work on call
- Standard daily travel to assigned territories (up to 30% of the time within a 10-mile radius)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States, without Sponsorship
