Job Summary
Under direct supervision, the Technician I sets up and operates environmental equipment across multiple service lines on client sites, performing readings with environmental meters, ensuring calibration and bump testing, conducting preventative maintenance, and handling hoses, fittings, and related equipment. Responsibilities include reporting to the supervisor, participating in safety communications, operating vehicles within licensing limits, logging data, following procedures and environmental permits, maintaining jobsite and yard cleanliness, and traveling to meet customers. Requires staying compliant with safety policies, being able to work in outdoor field conditions, and obtaining required certifications and credentials. Key skills include technical reading ability, documentation, teamwork, and effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to travel 20-70% of the time
- Valid driver license and insurance
- TWIC card or eligible to obtain
- HASC or RSO or comparable refinery area training card
- Ability to pass drug testing policy
- Ability to operate and drive vehicles within licensing scope
- Ability to read/interpret technical documents and procedures
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies
- Willingness to work in varied weather conditions and outdoor environments
- Flexibility to work a 24/7 operation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic math and technical reading ability
- Knowledge of PPE requirements and safety protocols
- Ability to complete required timesheets and logs
- Ability to learn and use electronic platforms for data logging
- Travel to sites and customers as required
- Ability to meet physical demands (lift up to 50 pounds) and operate in field environments
- Possession of or ability to obtain necessary certifications as specified by employer
