Job Summary
Technician, Headend responsible for the reception and distribution of off-air and satellite programming to the headend, including installation, construction, operations and repair of all equipment associated with the headend and signal distribution network. Duties include monitoring video/audio quality, RF level checks, headend alignment, satellite and stereo processing equipment, commercial insertion equipment, RF/data performance monitoring, node optimization in coordination with OSP Technicians, fiber jumpers scope/testing, rack/cabling, DC power and FAP connections, CAT6 crimping, and operation of test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, OSA, Optical Light Meter, OTDR, RF signal meter, MPEG Analyzer). Requires ability to drive company vehicle, work from heights, and lift up to 100 pounds. Education/Experience: HS diploma or GED or 0-3 months related experience; strong Headend/RF/IP/MPEG skills. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or equivalent
- Strong Headend, RF, IP, Optical and MPEG engineering and computer related skills
- Ability to solve network problems or infrastructure issues and manage performance and capacity issues
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards
