Technician, Field Service - Regional (Dallas, TX)

Job Summary

Complete training to become a Field Service Technician, traveling up to 50% within the U.S. to mentor and shadow service engineers. Install, maintain, and repair Sysmex instruments by identifying problems, performing site surveys, and executing scheduled maintenance. Document all service activities and manage parts inventory while meeting labor hour goals. Monitor communication devices and support technical issues at customer sites. Demonstrate ability to explain complex technical information and work cross-functionally to ensure customer resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree or 0-3 years required experience in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Clinical Laboratory Science which may include experience in the Armed Forces
  • Electronics and/or laboratory science
  • Completion of Sysmex-certified instrument training
  • A valid driver's license or ability to obtain one, within 90 days
  • Must be willing to relocate to any of our service districts throughout the U.S.
  • General computer knowledge in a Windows environment
  • Basic knowledge of LIS systems and interfacing principles
  • Demonstrated ability to explain in simple and understandable terms complex technical information associated with Sysmex instrument systems
  • Outstanding listening skills, patience and understanding
  • Demonstrated presentation and influence skills
  • Team orientation; demonstrated facilitation skills
  • Maintaining stable performance under pressure or opposition (such as time pressure or job ambiguity); handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Ability to maintain a high energy level and positive attitude
  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written
  • Second language (Spanish, French or Portuguese)
  • Proof of current vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), and COVID-19
  • Must be able to lift 21 to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk or perform inspections continuously (at least 80% of time)
  • Must be able to work in conditions with noise, dust, lighting and/or other conditions
  • Must be able to handle moderate physical discomfort
  • Must be able to monitor and respond to communication devices during all scheduled times
  • Must be able to properly document all service-related activities in a timely and professional manner
  • Must be able to maintain expenses within guidelines
  • Must be able to maintain control of parts inventory and all company property
  • Must be able to promote effective, positive, and productive communication and teamwork between all Sysmex personnel
  • Must be able to satisfy the credentialing requirements of Sysmex's customers, including hospitals and other healthcare facilities

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Basic knowledge of LIS systems and interfacing principles desirable
  • Second language (Spanish, French or Portuguese) desirable
  • Experience in the Armed Forces
