Job Summary

Install equipment and associated machinery to interface with new or existing production lines, performing ring-out, calibration, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure equipment performs to specification. Program PLC and HMI logic independently or with Engineering for customer installs, repairs, and maintenance while serving as on-site supervisor and project manager. Train customer personnel on equipment functions, safety features, machine operation, and spare parts usage. Independently travel to sites for service, installation, and training, demonstrating thorough customer service fundamentals. Requires 5-7 years supervising industrial machinery, 75% travel, and proficiency in Siemens/Allen-Bradley PLCs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate or G.E.D.
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in a technical field, including Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years supervising, installing, and maintaining material handling equipment or other industrial machinery
  • Strong electrical/mechanical/PLC background
  • Willing to travel 75% or more
  • Excellent mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical knowledge to include reading blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings
  • Demonstrated proficiency in assembling, servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting electro-mechanical machinery, PLC and HMI automation and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with Industrial Sensors (Photo Eyes, Inductive Sensors, etc.), Analog/Digital Positioning (Encoders and Potentiometers), and Variable Frequency Drives
  • Advanced knowledge of PLCs and machine language, to include reading ladder logic, uploading and downloading programs to PLC's and HMI's, monitor inputs and outputs in programs, and perform basic programming under the guidance of Engineering
  • Experience with Siemens S7 PLC's and Siemens STEP7 / Portal Software
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley SLC500 PLC's and Rockwell Software RSLogix500
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley Compact Logix PLC's and Rockwell Software RSLogix5000
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be capable of full range of body movement: head, neck, shoulders, lift arms overhead, work overhead, good dexterity and range of movement in fingers and hands
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have good balance and lack fear of heights while working on ladders
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Proficient understanding of primary categories of machinery, components, control systems, PLC programs - and overall sub-system interactions of Alliance equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Prefer an associate degree or bachelor's degree in a technical field, including Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
