Job Summary
Lead planning and problem-solving efforts in pre-production trial activities for the Battery Cell Department, driving root cause analysis, issue resolution, and reoccurrence prevention through Ryohin Joken methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to engage and resolve material, product, and process issues while creating and implementing working/trial plans for confirmation. Develop technical reports for organizational learning, input specifications for kaizen initiatives, and manage individual development with status visualization. Support standardization of department systems and participate in Hoshin activities, with potential rotation into process equipment production preparation management covering specification, procurement, and installation. Requires Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience, plus 2+ years in manufacturing production preparation and 1+ year in battery cell processes. Schedule includes weekend and shutdown work, up to 25% overtime, and 5% international and domestic travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field
- 5+ years of equivalent Engineering role experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in manufacturing production preparation role and schedule/deliverable management including stages of project plan, process/equipment plan, specification & procurement, installation and trial
- 2 years Required
- Experience in battery cell product, processes/equipment, and/or trial activity
- 1+ years Required
- Experience in activity of Ryohin Joken identification, application, and/or confirmation
- Experience coordinating with varied functions in large corporate organization, including production engineering, manufacturing, research & development, or similar, and reporting out to senior leadership level
- Experience in interpreting & applying product/process specification, drawing, etc.
- Experience in product x process/equipment simultaneous engineering for new model
- Ability for weekend and shutdown work
- Overtime up to 25%
- Travel (domestic and international) up to 25%
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in application of Toyota Production System
- Documented problem-solving certification or activity such as Toyota Business Practice (TBP), Fault Tree Analysis, or similar
- Experience in manufacturing plant production operations role
- Experience in data analytics tools and methods
- Experience in digital engineering software tools and procedures, including the ability to read, interpret and modify model data
- Japanese language proficiency including verbal and written
- 4 years Preferred
- 2+ years Preferred
