Job Summary
Universal Customer and Network Facing Technician role performing field installation, service work, troubleshooting and maintenance of cable TV, internet, and telephony on HFC and FTTH networks. Reads system design maps, installs and replaces network components, tests networks with equipment such as OTDR/TDR, resolves signal issues, conducts end-of-line testing, maintains records, and collaborates with dispatch and Headend personnel. Delivers customer-focused service, educates customers about existing and new services, adheres to safety policies, and supports projects like Remote Phy, node activation, and E2E testing on new properties. Requires strong technical aptitude, ability to work with diverse tools and software, safety compliance, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with customers and teammates.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Demonstrated proficiency in Core Technician skillsets
- Valid state driver’s license and a good driving record within Company required standards
- Certifications and licenses, as required by state and municipal laws
- Successfully meet (and maintain) additional background check requirements for specialized projects
- Minimum of one year of direct customer service experience
- PC and Windows software skills
- Able to work required shifts and overtime (if necessary)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
