Job Summary
Technician responsible for field installation and service, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of cable television, internet, and telephony systems on HFC and FTTH networks. Performs end-to-end network testing, identifies and repairs ingress, maintains gear and inventory, and documents work orders. Engages with customers professionally, educates them on services, and coordinates with dispatch and Headend personnel. Requires strong technical aptitude with RF/AC/DC systems, familiarity with test equipment (OTDR, TDR, signal level meters), and the ability to operate company vehicle, work overtime, and adhere to safety and FCC requirements. Location-based in Leonardtown, MD; role emphasizes in-person field work across residential and business installations, with emphasis on customer service and cross-team collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state driver’s license
- Minimum of one year of direct customer service experience
- Minimum Demonstrated proficiency in Core Technician skillsets
- Certifications and licenses, as required by state and municipal laws
- Successfully meet (and maintain) additional background check requirements for specialized projects/services
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with position
- DOT physical may be required
- Willingness to travel as business needs dictate
