Job Summary
Technician, Commercial role focusing on installing and supporting Breezeline’s Commercial Hosted Voice (VOIP), enterprise fiber, and SMB services. Responsibilities include hosting voice installations, coordinating with sales/provisioning, site surveys/pre-installations/installations, installing hosted voice devices and commercial fiber equipment, designing and implementing hosted phone changes with minimal customer disruption, troubleshooting IP voice and data issues, and assisting with current/future network upgrades. Preferred technical knowledge includes PBX/SIP/VOIP systems, ethernet and fiber networking, back-office connectivity, and familiarity with data center environments. Requires an Associate Degree (or equivalent) and relevant experience; strong ability to read technical materials, write reports, and communicate with customers and teams. Must be able to perform clean cabling, climb ladders, and operate test equipment; willingness to work in various environmental conditions and adhere to regulations. Location: Leonardtown, MD.
Required Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience: Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two years college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations
- The ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Mathematical Skills: ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
- Reasoning Ability: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret a variety of extensive technical details in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Google Workspace
- Layer 2/3 networking technology
- Familiarity with VLAN and multicast
- Back office enterprise network technologies preferable
- PBX phone system and SIP phone experience desirable
- Familiarity with data center environments desirable
- Ability to perform clean cabling and professional installations
- Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and company policies
- Ability to carry, climb and work from a ladder
- Ability to occasionally work in outdoor environments
- Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
- Ability to drive a Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to work in tight spaces including bending, reaching and/or twisting
- Ability to operate appropriate test equipment associated with position
- Experience: Computer Networking: 1 year (Preferred)
- LAN: 1 year (Preferred)
- Education: Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent
- Languages: English
