Job Summary

Review vehicle history and factory bulletins, focusing on outstanding campaigns. Complete system diagnostics, automotive troubleshooting, and testing to identify mechanical issues. Report required work to management for approval and request necessary parts from the parts department. Perform various vehicle repairs after authorization, test drive vehicles to verify fixes, and inform the dispatcher or team leader of job completion. Maintain training records, adhere to safety guidelines regarding hazardous waste, and keep work areas clean.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and computerized diagnostics
  • Skilled in using diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and repair mechanical issues
  • Effective verbal and written communication to interact with customers, explain repairs, and collaborate with other members of the service team
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex automotive issues and determine the most effective repair solutions
  • Adept at analyzing symptoms, conducting tests, and identifying root causes of problems
  • Precision is critical in automotive repair to ensure that tasks are performed correctly and safely
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail when following manufacturer guidelines, adjusting components, and testing repairs
  • Customer-focused attitude and the ability to address concerns professionally
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of their work, including following proper procedures, handling hazardous materials responsibly, and using personal protective equipment as needed
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
