Job Summary
Diagnose and repair rental compact construction equipment including skid steers, wheel loaders, and aerial lifts. Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining safety standards. Collaborate with other technicians to troubleshoot repairs and participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and product knowledge. This role supports Ziegler's commitment to customer success through reliable equipment maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field
- High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
- 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience
- Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems
- Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
- Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
- Own mechanic tool set
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
- Push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
- Able to use bolt box
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred
- Working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required
