Job Summary

Test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electronic units using schematics, maintenance manuals, and Airworthiness Directives. Inspect aircraft components for defects, disassemble and clean parts, then repair or replace damaged components before reassembling and testing for proper operation. Perform complicated tasks involving soldering and de-soldering of through-hole and surface-mounted components while evaluating units with official documents. Work with little or no supervision, following safety procedures and utilizing mechanical tools, multimeters, and gauges. Requires high school diploma, basic computer skills, and technical training or bench experience. Full-time non-exempt role within the Electronics Department.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Successfully completed technical training by a certifying educational institution or 1-2 years of bench experience in the field or related area
  • Must be able to evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate units using official documents
  • Must have knowledge and experience with mechanical tools, multimeters, micrometers, calipers, measuring indicators, and gauges
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work with standardized tools and electric equipment
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must possess the ability to solder and de-solder electronic components (through hole-mounted and surface mounted components)
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
