Job Summary
Generator Technician responsible for preventative maintenance on standby generator systems, troubleshooting and repairing gas and diesel engines, repairing/adjusting transfer switches, installing/testing new generator units, and responding to emergency jobsites. Requires hands-on approach, safety compliance (PPE), ability to prepare accurate quotes, complete work orders, and maintain timely reports. Must have a High School Diploma or GED, may include Technical School or Military training, and 1-5+ years of generator experience; Kohler Power Systems experience is a plus. Strong prioritization, communication, and customer service skills are desired, with company benefits including a truck, fuel card, OT, PTO, 401(k) matching, and opportunities for Kohler Power System certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical School Certificate or Military training (a plus)
- 1-5 years or more of generator experience
- Experience with Kohler Power Systems is a plus
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Exceptional customer service skills
