Job Summary
Perform mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on brakes, transmissions, A/C, and suspension systems, including road testing vehicles and educating customers on preventive care. Diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints, complete complex repairs independently, and document all work performed and recommended. Maintain shop organization, ensure customer vehicles remain clean, and comply with safety regulations while managing tools and equipment. Partner with the Center Manager on additional work needs and participate in organization-sponsored training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) plus years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine tickets, notes and other correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers
- Valid Driver's License
- State Emission Certification- if applicable in your state
- State Vehicle Inspector Certification- if applicable in your state
- Ability to work in cramped places, such as underneath a jacked-up automobile or a lower bay
- Upper body strength and stamina to effectively use hand tools like hammers and wrenches and to make sure that fasteners are properly secured
- Fine motor skills to be able to work with small fasteners, such as nuts, bolts, and washers
- Vision: Ability to read diagrams, manuals and emails
- Ability to work in fluctuating and sometimes extreme weather temperatures
- You will be required to sign a contract with our uniform policy and procedure plan
Desired Qualifications
- Current ASE Certifications are a huge plus in this role
