Job Summary
Provide professional service by assisting veterinary technicians with patient care, including gentle pet restraint, moving patients between areas, and administering oral medications under direction. Manage boarding duties by feeding pets, cleaning cages and litterboxes, providing daily walks, and monitoring for signs of discomfort. Maintain hospital hygiene through daily disinfection of cages and areas, scrubbing surgical instruments, and maintaining laundry supplies. Process diagnostic samples, restock medical supplies, and accurately document patient observations such as appetite, bowel movements, and behavior. Support the medical team by answering phones, assisting outgoing patients into vehicles, and ensuring proper pet identification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to multi-task
- Reads, writes and speaks fluent English
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to convert units of measurement
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb
- Ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for some swing shifts, occasional overnights, and weekends
- Ability to be confident around pets (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.)

- Vaccines and infectious diseases of pets, potential for zoonotic disease
