Job Summary
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks while performing electrical diagnosis of starting and charging systems. Identify and inspect air conditioning, heating, wheel end assembly, air system, and air brake components, as well as hydraulics. Complete hands-on experience supporting the Republic Preventative Maintenance Program under direct supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager. Participate in a two-year apprenticeship program including nine weeks of company-paid training at the Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas, followed by twenty-two months of on-the-job training with mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to completing this two-year program
- Interest in engineering and technology
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some nights/weekends or holidays
- Willingness to uphold the values and expectations at Republic Services, including safety, ethics, and respect
- Willingness to travel to & live in Dallas, Texas for 9 weeks of in-person training
