Job Summary
Coordinate and provide technical support to Anesthesiologists and Nurse Anesthetists under direct supervision. Perform duties requiring two to three years of experience as an anesthesia technician, Endo Tech, OR Scrub Tech, or Operating Room Core Technician. Demonstrate proficiency in sterile technique, operating room protocols, and all departmental computer systems and databases. Complete BLS certification within six months of hire, with Certified Anesthesia Technician certification preferred. Work full-time days in a role involving frequent patient exposure, operative equipment handling, and varied temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a formal surgical technology training program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent
- In lieu of degree/surgical training program, at least two years' experience as an anesthesia technician, Endo Tech, OR Scrub Tech, or Operating Room (OR) Core Technician, or other closely associated role in the OR
- Proficiency in all departmental computer systems and databases
- Two to three years' experience as an anesthesia technician
- Technical skills necessary to perform duties
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique and operating room protocols
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire
