Job Summary
This role is a laboratory technician position based in Balcatta, WA, performing metallurgical laboratory testwork and routine procedures under shift rotations (day/afternoon, occasional night), with training provided and potential progression to permanent full-time. Responsibilities include preparing samples, operating laboratory instruments, handling digestion and fusion processes, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate, timely results. The role emphasizes good communication, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a laboratory environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in similar laboratory or mine site roles preferred but not required as training provided
- Good communication, organisational and time management skills
- Great attention to detail and high motivation
- Ability to undertake Shift work (Day and Afternoon) as required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical fitness with ability to perform manual handling tasks
- Good literacy, numeracy, and computer skills
- Alignment to ALS core values and culture
- Eligibility to work in Australia: Citizen or Permanent Resident, or able to obtain valid working visa
