Job Summary
Tech-Advisor at VIP Auto in Worcester, MA combines responsibilities of a service writer and installation technician to deliver a differentiated customer experience. The role emphasizes safety as a priority, learning VIP processes, and executing vehicle service duties per VIP standards. Key duties include consulting with customers, educating them on vehicle condition based on MPI inspections, handling counter duties, performing required services in the shop, maintaining communication with management and the team, completing LMS and vendor trainings, and achieving strong customer engagement and productive billed hours. Certifications and licenses are required or recommended (ASE C1, P2, G1, A4, A5; State Inspection License where applicable). Work environment is an indoor service department with typical 5-day, 40-hour weeks and hourly pay structure.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
