Job Summary
Tech-Advisor in Westbrook, ME combines service writer and installation technician duties to deliver VIP customer experience, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and VIP processes. Responsibilities include counter-service when consulting with customers, educating them on vehicle condition based on MPI inspection, executing shop duties as a technician, maintaining safety standards, completing LMS and vendor training, achieving higher customer engagement and productivity, and ensuring adherence to the VIP Code of Ethics and service procedures. The role requires strong verbal/written communication, organizational skills, automotive servicing knowledge, and ASE certifications (C1, P2, G1, A4, A5) with a valid state driver’s license. The position is hourly, non-exempt, with a standard 5-day, 40-hour work week, and may involve facility/equipment maintenance and participation in training sessions.”,
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
