Job Summary
Tech-Advisor position at VIP in West Lebanon, NH blends counter-service writer duties with shop technician responsibilities to deliver an exceptional customer experience and VIP-standard results. Responsibilities include safety policy adherence, consulting with customers at the counter, educating them on vehicle conditions based on mileage and MPI results, performing service work per VIP standards, obtaining and maintaining required LMS and vendor training, and achieving strong customer engagement and billed-hour productivity. The role requires teamwork, effective communication, certification training and ongoing development across service writer and installation technician duties, participation in store meetings, and adherence to VIP processes for delivering a different and better customer experience. The position emphasizes a non-exempt hourly schedule with a standard 5-day, 40-hour work week, and a broad set of ASE and inspection credentials.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
