Job Summary
Tech-Advisor at VIP in Waterville, ME combines service-writing and technician duties. Responsibilities include ensuring workplace safety, serving customers at the counter, taking work orders and performing vehicle service per VIP standards, completing required LMS and vendor trainings, achieving higher-than-average customer engagement and billed hours, and participating in ongoing team coordination. The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to VIP processes, with duties spanning both service writer and installation technician functions, including obtaining BATS, TPMS, and ASE certifications and maintaining facility and equipment standards. Typical schedule is 5 days/week, 40 hours, with hourly pay and non-exempt status. Education/experience prerequisites include at least one year in automotive service and a two-year college or technical program recommended, plus various ASE certifications and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
