Job Summary
Tech-Advisor lives VIP’s mission to earn automotive customers for life by delivering exceptional customer experiences through service-writing, vehicle inspection education, and collaborative technician work. The role blends service-writing and installation technician duties, focusing on consulting with customers, building relationships, and educating them on vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, while ensuring VIP standards and safety policies are followed. The position requires completing LMS and vendor trainings, achieving certifications including BATS, advanced TPMS, and ASE credentials, and maintaining effective communication with the team. The Tech-Advisor supports the Service Manager to drive customer engagement, meets production hours targets, and participates in ongoing training and meetings to uphold VIP processes and a high-quality service experience.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
