Job Summary
Tech-Advisor combines service-writing duties at the counter with shop technician responsibilities, delivering VIP customer experiences by educating customers on vehicle conditions per MPI results, earning higher billed hours and maintaining VIP standards. Responsibilities include ensuring safety policies, handling customer consultations, executing required training and certifications (LMS, vendor, ASE and related automotive certifications), performing service-writing and installation technician tasks, communicating with the team, attending meetings, and supporting the 5-for-5 process to educate customers about vehicle conditions and solutions. Requires multi-role capability across service writer and installation technician functions, strong communication, organization, and adherence to safety and process standards. Standard schedule is 5 days and 40 hours per week; active engagement in facility and equipment maintenance, compliance with ethics and regulations, and ongoing professional development through training and certifications.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
