Job Summary
Tech-Advisor (Technician/Advisor) at VIP in Scarborough, ME combines service writer and installation technician duties to deliver VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include serving customers at the counter, educating them about vehicle conditions based on MPI inspection, taking work orders, performing required services, maintaining safety and cleanliness, completing LMS and vendor trainings, pursuing ASE certifications (C1, P2, G1, A4, A5) and other licenses, maintaining effective communication with team, and driving customer engagement and billed hours while adhering to VIP processes and safety policies. The role requires automotive service knowledge, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work across service writer and technician duties; standard schedule is a 5-day, 40-hour week. Pay is hourly.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related automotive service experience
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended or equivalent
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
