Job Summary
Tech-Advisor at Sanford, ME combines service-writing and installation-technician duties to deliver VIP customer experiences. Responsibilities include maintaining safety, consulting with customers about vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, handling counter service, performing shop technician duties when needed, and earning and maintaining relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, TPMS, BATS). The role emphasizes communication, teamwork, adherence to VIP processes, training participation, and contributing to higher customer engagement and productive billed hours. Must be able to follow VIP standards, participate in LMS and vendor trainings, and support the service manager with delivering a differentiated customer experience. The position operates in a 5-day, 40-hour workweek in an indoor service environment with a focus on safety, facility upkeep, and compliance with applicable codes.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related automotive service experience
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended or equivalent experience
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
